KDE Plasma 6.4 was released in June of 2025 and made it's way into Arch Linux's repos shortly thereafter. I've been using the Plasma Desktop on Arch for about a year and there's a lot I like about this release!

My Favorite Features, Abridged:

System Monitor: The new Overview is swell and the History is exactly what I've needed.

Spectacle: Now enters screenshot-mode when print-screen is pressed! Video screenshots work better now too.

KInfoCenter: Energy was overhauled and Sensors shows raw data for things like CPU temperatures. Neat!

Drawing Tablet Improvements: Configuring tablet pens is way simpler now. And looks super professional!

Display/Wayland Updates: HDR improvements, and Extended-Dynamic-Range support, wow!

KRunner: Can now search X11 colors. Odd but kind of cool.

Notifications: Disabled when full-screen applications (such as games) are running.

Media Player Speed: You can adjust the playback speed of media players. Works surprisingly well.

Widget Improvements: There's a new tag on recently installed applications now.

UX & Accessibility Refresh: The Dark theme got a bit darker and the background darkens when an authentication dialog appears (kinda like Windows Vista).
