One of the first blog posts I wrote here on the site was about my time on Medium and why I drifted here.
When I wrote that post, I skimmed through the old blog and stopped to read my first blog post there.
I remember where I was when I wrote that post. I had just began my journey into DevOps and I wanted to focus on a single framework instead of hobby languages. It didn’t pan out, though. I was laid off from that job and bounced to another working with NodeJS.
That’s where it all started. I taught myself NodeJS as a hobby with my silly Egee.io projects. After the .NET job petered-out, I glided over to JavaScript land.
Today, I find myself working with PHP and Java. Where did the .NET, Ruby, and NodeJS go? They’re still in the back of my mind somewhere. It’s like riding a bike. You wouldn’t jump into a marathon or do crazy jumps and stunts if you hadn’t ridden in a while. But you could if you worked up to it.
That’s where I always seem to find my success; doing whatever it takes. So, that’s what I’m supposed to be, I guess. A Fixer. Problem Solver. A Solutioneer™️.
I still consider myself a NodeJS main with a personal affinity for Ruby though. 😉
